A bis-NHC
diboryne compound has been isolated at room temperature, and it is
stable in absence of oxygen/moisture. It was synthesized by reduction
of a bis(N-heterocyclic carbene)-stabilized tetrabromodiborane
with either two or four equivalents of sodium naphthalenide.
