Optical Imaging (OI) is becoming a very popular way to track changes in
vivo. In this article, FRI (fluorescence reflectance imaging) is even
predicted to surpass MRI in usage. FRI cannot be used for deep tissue
imaging, but when paired with FMT (fluorescence molecular tomography)
which uses lasers to excite near-IR fluorophores and uCT (microcomputed
tomography) which helps to map the FMT signals, this becomes a powerful
tool for noninvasively gaining quantitative biodistibution information.
