In this work, microporous polymer networks were synthesized via RAFT polymerization of divinyl benzene and styrene, where the RAFT CTA was a PLA-functionalized trithiocarbonate.  The PLA plays its role in giving rise to microphase segregation during the polymerization, and is then etched away by treatment with methanolic/aqueous sodium hydroxide.
