This group demonstrates that 1-iodoalkynes can be clicked with azides to give 5-iodo-1,2,3-triazoles. With a halogen exchange reaction, the 5-iodotriazole can be converted to a 5-fluorotriazole, which can further be substituted with a nucleophile to give 1,4,5-substituted triazoles.
