NHC complexes with zinc were synthesized including what the author's claim as the first synthesis of anionic NHC via a lithiation of an NHC, the first 1:3 lithium: zinc NHC complex, the first 1:1 lithium:zinc NHC complex, and the first C4 bound NHC stabilized organozincates.
